Cruisin Again

It's about time. Thank you mother nature for finally getting in step with SPRING.

I couldn't believe the number of motorcyclists cruising the Connecticut countryside Sunday. What else did I expect. DUHHHH. A couple of very special events for you to consider cruising to during the next month: On Memorial Day Weekend it's the Lyme / Old Lyme Lions Club annual Antique Auto show. http://www.lymeoldlymelions.com/carshow.htm

On the first Sunday in June, the CT MG Car Club holds its 20th Anniversary "BRITISH BY THE SEA" show at the beautiful Harkness State Park in Waterford:

Speaking of Brit cars here's an updated photo of the Hogan's 59 MGA Roadster....no, not this year, but it'll make it's debut in 2008...nearly 10 years after the ground up restoration began.
Send comments or thoughts....see you on the road.

Ready set, Spring Clean and prep for a busy Summer!

I don't know about you, but I'm ready to welcome Spring. I thought I'd push the issue by taking the snowblower apart and storing it until next November. There, take that! Now that buys me three to four weeks before I have to prep the mower and buy new blades. We're just a month away or less from mowing the grass. Heck with all the rain and having fertilized pretty heavy last fall the grass is going to be high very quickly.By the way, if you're taking notes about storing power equipment away for a season....use a fuel stabilizer. You'll save yourself a bill the next time you try and start the darn machine...and realize you've shellaced and gummed up the insides. Let's see spring cleaning...hmmm...the yard, how much LIME do I need to throw down? Do I buy pellet or powder? Should I rake up the debris first? Gheeesh...so many spring decisions: Clean the screens, the windows, the gutters, replace roof shingles, all while I'm thinking about cleaning and waxing the cars. But if the sun comes out and the temps warm up we can take the bike's out! Or finally take the motorcycle out for a real ride. Not like the quick jaunt last month wearing winter gloves. There never seems to be enough time to get it all done either. Graduations are around the corner...as is the wedding of son #1, meanwhile my third born turns 16 (here we go again). Those aren't the only upcoming changes in our lives, next week I'll tell you about my tour of the new studios of WFSB!
